Tim Jensen is an avid performer and teacher of a number of musical instruments and genres. He has a particular love for string instruments and has been a student and performer of the double bass for 11 years, playing with a number of different orchestras during this time. He held the principal double bass position of the Orange County Youth Orchestra for their 2012-2013 season with which he was also named the winner of the orchestra's 2012-2013 concerto competition. He was principal bass of both the Irvine Valley College Symphony Orchestra and the Bob Cole Conservatory Symphony through the duration of his 6 years of college. Tim received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSULB in 2017. Tim currently holds a section position with the Redlands Symphony and is a Substitute with the Pacific Symphony, Long Beach Symphony, San Diego Symphony, and several other orchestras across Southern California. Tim also plays at the Disneyland Resort as a Bass player for the group "Five & Dime", which is a 5 piece jazz/swing band. Aside from playing the Double Bass, Tim has been playing and teaching both guitar and bass guitar for nearly 7 years, in addition to other various string instruments. Tim has over a decade of experience performing in multiple groups of varying genres. Tim has also done recordings and arrangements for multiple albums, including an arrangement on 12- string guitar virtuoso Toulouse Engelhardt’s album “Mind Gardens”. He performed as a soloist with the Long Beach Symphony, playing electric guitar for the Mason Bates piece “Mothership”. Tim has gained an appreciation for all forms of music and is passionate about performing, composing, and teaching. He hopes to inspire that same love and appreciation for music in his students and audiences alike.
